Monsal Trail

Accessible Monsal Trail – Peak District

This multi user trail uses the path of an old railway line – it is well surfaced, the tunnels have been updated with good surfaces and lighting – My suggestion would be to park and access the trail from the old station at Millers Dale (good parking & disabled toilet) and head in the direction of Monsal Dale – you will pass over Millers Dale and Cressbrook, see the amazing gorge and restore mills, now sought after apartments and holiday homes. From the Monsal Head Viaduct look down to the River Wye or up to Monsal Head. You could carry on all the way in to Bakewell but be warned there is a noticeable incline on the way back which could be hard work for manual wheelchair.
